Tire Balancing – Wheel Alignment
Both these disciplines have improved with computerization. Be sure the shop you choose is up to speed. Good shops are not uncommon and in our experience not particularly more expensive.
Wheel Balancing: Look for a shop that does Road Force Balancing. This feature applies a pressurized force via a rolling drum weight that simulates the pressure your tires experiences when rolling down the road. It permits more accurate balancing.
Wheel Alignment: Computerized equipment is standard. We do not rate manufactuerers but Hunter appear to be the most popular. Check re rear wheel alignment. Little things to look for: Zinc tape weights. Can be cut to greater accuracy. Lead weight will shortly be discontinued by law for environmental reasons. Wire wheels require specialists.
